Workshops are charged at £225 per day (£175 0n zoom) plus travel at 40p per mile

Pattern Of Life

 

Using dress pattern tissue and the paper lamination techniue to make it stitchale we will then use this fabric and combine with cotton organdie to stitch a small panel using the Pojagi piecing technique.

 

 

Monoprint Magic

 

Making simple stamps and combining these with the monoprinting technique onto fabric using paints and inks. We will then use these prnts to stitch into a small panel using the Pojagi piecing technique.

Precious Pojagi

Use your collection of precious textile treasures - lace, embroidery, ties, clothing or fabric scraps - to stitch into a new panel using cotton organdie and the Pojagi piecing technique

Playing with Pojagi

 

Using machine piecing to create a double-sided stained glass inspired hanging using the Korean Pojagi technique but with a modern twist. Choice of three designs and lots of colourways. Materials provided for £15

 

Natural Dyeing Workshop

Learn the skills of natural dyeing to create lots of cloth for future stitch projects

 

One or two day course

Work with natural plant material and natural fabrics to create botanical prints

One day course (or can be combined with natural dyeing for a two or three day)

Thread Bowls

Work with soluble film and glitzy fabrics to create a delicate looking but surprrisingly strong bowl. Free motion stitching.

Burn your bra for Arts Sake

 

Create a textured and crusty looking panel or vessel using nylon lace, nasty nets or even your old underwear. 

 

This technique uses heat tools so may not be suitable for those with breathing problems

Silken Knot Bookcover

 

Create a sumptuous bookcover using handmade braids and cords on a base of silk.  Makes use of often neglected decorative machine stitches

Work with a shrikable base and lots of different natural fabrics and procion dyes to create a highy textured and coloured panel

Putting on the Glitz

Create a sumptuous panel working on a velvet base with fabric paints, bonded sheers, transfoils and glitter film.

Optional second day for stitching

 

Layered Landscapes

Using small pieces of fabrics to build up a collaged base and use of confetti quilting to create an A4 piece ready to frame.

Texture Adventures

 

Work with a commercial fabric and sheer organzas to create a panel of contrasting colour and texture. Use of heat tools* and free motion embroidery. Optional hand embellishment.

Lovely Lutradur

 

Using this spunbond fabric to add layers of colour and shine before stitching and burning* to create a small vessel.
